When The American Museum of Natural History promotes a blockbuster exhibit, like 2010’s Traveling the Silk Road, the show’s visual identity has to be incredibly eye-catching and also hold up well over time. This show’s key art was a highly recognizable fixture on subway platforms, bus shelters, street banners and in all forms of print and web media for a year.
The graphics for the Museum’s seasonal butterfly exhibit had to be particularly kid-friendly and colorful. For 2011’s Race to the End of the Earth, my proposed design evoked the cold beauty of the South Pole, while remaining warm enough for the merchandising program.
